Footprint Introduction Activity

This activity I used to introduce myself to our class. I traced my foot on blue construction paper and then covered it with things that represent me. I have an apple to represent me as a teacher. The music notes are for my love of music. Coffee fuels my life. I love to draw represented by the pencil. I love anything Disney shown by Mickey Mouse. Then film strip because I love watching movies. The people represent my family and friends that mean the world to me. I love to read and was librarian’s assistance for many years so I thought books were very fitting. I had to use at least three different types of mediums, which were construction paper, maker, color pencils, and glitter.
This is a great activity to use to introduce my self to my class but then have them make their own.

An extension activity to do with this project could be used across the curriculum. I thought that in math everyone could measure there foot but then we would line all of them up and measure all of them. To describe the images on each foot they could trace their hands and describe them on each finger. I would display them in the hall and this could be used with everyone in the school.
