Hidden Safari

Hidden Safari

This project, Hidden Safari, I made by using warm colors and creating a hidden image behind using cool colors. To be able to view the image I made magic ruby red glasses. I drew a safari animal upside down in sky blue colored pencil. Then I drew patterns of warm colors using crayons over top of the blue animal. This layering of warm colors over top of the blue image is hiding the animal. The note card has three hints to what the animal is. My extension activity would be having the children be vocabulary detectives and have them find the hidden vocab words. I would have the letters scrambled hidden on a sheet of paper then they have them use their detective goggles to see the letters. I would have the definitions on the sheet so that they would have to guess the vocab word before they decode the letters. This would be a fun way to practice their vocabulary.
