Silhouette Lesson

For this lesson we worked on silhouettes. We started by asking our partners different questions about them selves such as favorite food, where they were born, and how many siblings they have etc. This was to get us thinking about what we were going to place inside our silhouette. Then we started to cut out pictures and words from magazines that related to us and things we like. We took turns going up to the board and tracing our partner’s silhouettes onto the construction paper. We then cut our silhouettes out and glued them to another piece of paper. We took the magazine pictures and glued them on our faces and wrote five words that describe us around the silhouette.
Extension Activity,
The students could write why choose each picture to represent them. They need to make it as personal as they can. It would be a introduction activity for the beginning of the year. We would present them to the class and we would display them in the room.
