For this lesson we learned about narrative stories. They
began by reading the book If You Give a
Mouse a Cookie by Laura
Joffe Numeroff. They pointed out the Plot, Characters, and settings from the
story. Next, they asked us to come up with our own characters, setting, and
plot. We then formed a group of three and sound a way to take all of our ideas
and create a story. After coming up with a story line with characters and a
setting, we created six pages of a pop up book. Each page was to have a
picture, with a central element being projected by the pop up piece. Then under
the picture a line or two from the story we created.
Extinction
Activity,
I
love this idea of having the students create a book. You could use this as a
form of book report. They could draw the characters, settings, and plot of the
book they read. Answering a few questions under the drawings. Also a student could
draw a picture and then have a partner narrate what they think the picture.
